Who we are and what this is about
Temp Mail runs the disposable email service at mytempmail.pro. Our entire product is built around one idea: you should be able to use the internet without handing over your real email address every time a website asks for one.
This policy is our promise about how we handle whatever small amount of data passes through our service. We have written it to actually be read — not to bury important information in legal jargon. If something is unclear, email us at contact@mytempmail.pro and we will explain it plainly.
The short version
We do not know who you are. We do not try to find out. We store your temporary inbox just long enough to be useful, then delete it completely. We use Google AdSense to display ads so the service stays free — we never sell user data and never will.
What we collect — and why
Your temporary email address and inbox
When you generate an address, we store the address string, when it was created, when it expires, and any emails delivered to it. That is it. There is no account, no name, no profile. When the address expires, everything tied to it — every message, every attachment preview — is permanently deleted from our database. We do not archive it. We do not move it to cold storage. It is gone.
What your browser holds locally
We save your current address and inbox state in your browser's localStorage. This is what lets your inbox survive a page refresh. This data lives on your device and never leaves it except when your browser contacts our server to check for new messages. You can clear it any time by clearing your browser storage.
Edge and server logs
Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare. Like every web server on the planet, Cloudflare logs basic HTTP request data: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the time of the request, and the URL path you accessed. We use this exclusively for security monitoring and abuse prevention. Cloudflare retains these logs for up to 30 days under their own privacy policy. We do not export or store them separately.
Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse. Unlike traditional CAPTCHAs, Turnstile is designed to work without tracking you across the web or using cookies to do so. If you are curious about how it works, Cloudflare's documentation explains it well.
What we do not collect — full list
- Your real name, address, phone number, or actual email address
- Passwords (there are no accounts, so there is nothing to log in to)
- Payment data (the service is free, no transactions happen)
- Your precise location — we see only the country-level data Cloudflare includes in edge logs
- Any device fingerprint or cross-site tracking cookie beyond the Google AdSense cookies described in the Cookies section below
- Social profiles, social login tokens, or anything from social platforms
- The content of your emails for any purpose other than displaying it to you
Cookies
We use the following cookies on this site:
- Theme preference (first-party): Stores your light/dark mode choice. No tracking, no expiry beyond your browser session.
- Google AdSense (third-party): We display ads served by Google AdSense (
ca-pub-9600331042737400). Google may set cookies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing history and interests. These are third-party cookies placed by Google, not by us. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or via aboutads.info. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies.
You can disable or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Disabling advertising cookies will not stop ads from appearing — it will only make them less relevant to you.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which gives us aggregated numbers — total page views, rough geographic distribution, top referrers. It does not identify individual users, does not use cookies, and cannot be used to build a profile of any person. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Amplitude, Segment, or any other behavioural tracking product beyond the advertising cookies described above.
Advertising
My Temp Mail displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to help keep the service free for all users. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DSID, IDE, and NID cookies on doubleclick.net and google.com domains) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other sites on the internet.
We do not share any personally identifiable information with Google for advertising purposes. Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you are in the EEA or UK, Google will only use your data for personalised advertising if you have given your consent.
Who stores your data
Your temporary inbox is stored on Supabase (a PostgreSQL database service that is SOC 2 Type II certified). Our application layer runs on Cloudflare Workers. These are the only two services that touch your inbox data. We have no other data processors.
How long we keep data
| What | How long | What happens after |
|---|---|---|
| Temporary address & all messages | Until the address expires (typically 1–24 hours) | Permanently deleted from the database |
| Cloudflare edge logs | Up to 30 days | Automatically overwritten by Cloudflare |
| Browser localStorage | Until you clear your browser data | Removed from your device only |
| Theme cookie | Until you change the preference or clear cookies | Removed from your browser |
Your rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws, you have rights over data held about you. Because we collect no data linked to your identity, most of these rights apply only in a narrow practical sense — there is no personal profile to hand over, correct, or erase. That said:
- Access: You can ask us what data we hold. We will tell you honestly.
- Deletion: You can ask us to delete any data tied to a session. Temporary inboxes are already on an auto-delete schedule, but we can accelerate that.
- Objection: You can object to any processing we carry out.
- CCPA (California residents): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what is collected and to request deletion.
Write to us at contact@mytempmail.pro. We respond within 30 calendar days.
Children
Temp Mail is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has used our service and there is a privacy concern, contact us immediately and we will act quickly.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change — something that actually affects how your data is handled — we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not silently loosen protections. If a change reduces your rights in any real way, we will make that obvious.
