How it started
I got tired of the same story repeating itself — sign up for one free tool, get two months of promotions, three "we miss you" emails, and eventually find your address in a data-breach notification. Multiplied across every app, newsletter, and checkout you've ever tried, that's hundreds of points of failure for your privacy. The existing solutions were either clunky, unreliable, or locked behind a paywall. So in 2025 I started building My Temp Mail.
A year later it handles millions of disposable inboxes — still free, still no accounts, still no data collected.
What I believe
- Privacy is a right, not a premium feature. You shouldn't pay to keep your real address private.
- Free should mean free. No "lite" tier, no paywall after the third inbox, no dark patterns.
- If I don't collect it, I can't lose it. No accounts, no profiles, no personal data stored anywhere.
- Fast beats fancy. An inbox should appear in under a second and update live. Everything else is noise.
- Solo doesn't mean sloppy. One developer can still ship a reliable, well-engineered product.
How the product works
When you open My Temp Mail, a random email address is generated instantly on one of our owned domains — no registration, no identity. The inbox receives mail in real time via Server-Sent Events running on Cloudflare's global edge network. After the session ends, the address is unregistered and every message is permanently deleted. No trace left.
How it stays free
My Temp Mail runs on Cloudflare Workers — one of the most cost-efficient infrastructures on the planet. Because nothing is stored permanently and there are no user accounts or heavy databases to maintain, the operational cost per user is tiny. Unobtrusive ads via Google AdSense cover infrastructure costs. That's it. No subscriptions, no data selling, no upsells — ever.
What I don't do
I don't sell your data. I don't profile you. I don't read your messages. I don't keep them after they expire. I don't ask you to create an account to continue — because the whole point is that you shouldn't have to.
