Apple Mail: View → Message → All Headers.
Yahoo Mail: Open email → three-dot menu → "View Raw Message".
What can headers reveal?
Sender spoofing
Compare From and Reply-To headers — mismatches are a common phishing signal.
Delivery path
Each Received header adds a hop. The path shows which servers relayed the message.
Authentication status
SPF, DKIM, and DMARC results confirm whether the sender is legitimate.
Spam score
X-Spam-Status and X-Spam-Score headers reveal how spam filters rated the message.
Mailer software
X-Mailer or User-Agent headers expose the software used to compose the email.
Delivery delay
Timestamps across Received headers show where delays occurred in the chain.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data sent to any server?
No. All analysis runs entirely in your browser. Headers are never transmitted or stored anywhere.
Why are some fields missing?
Not all email clients include every header. Headers like Reply-To or X-Mailer are optional and may be omitted by the sender.
Can headers be forged?
Yes — the From header can be spoofed easily. Trust the Authentication-Results header added by the receiving server instead, as it cannot be forged by the sender.
